A 1994 graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law and a Board Member of its Moot Court Honors Program, Mr. Levine also holds a degree in Public Affairs Management from Cornell University, where he graduated with honors.  Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Levine honed his legal skills at a Westside firm specializing in civil litigation.  Mr. Levine has extensive experience successfully representing clients at all stages of the litigation process, including jury and court trials, arbitrations, mediations, and appeals.

Mr. Levine has represented businesses in a wide variety of complex cases, including claims involving breach of contract, construction, unfair competition, and business torts.  Over his career, he has represented manufacturing companies in contract, toxic tort, and unfair competition claims; service companies in trade secret, employment, and Cartwright Act claims; technology companies in business interference and contractual claims; real estate brokerages in commission disputes and negligence claims; consulting companies in misrepresentation and unfair competition claims; “start-up” companies in licensing issues and partnership disputes; and import/export companies in breach of contract and product liability claims.

Mr. Levine specializes in the use of motion practice to narrow litigation issues before trial.  For instance, Mr. Levine has successfully prepared and argued motions for summary adjudication resulting in the dismissal of numerous complaints and claims, including a class action complaint alleging improper escheatment practices against an aerospace client, an interference with contract complaint against an information technology client, and a multi-million dollar stock option claim against a manufacturer client.

Mr. Levine has substantial experience in representing clients in jury and court trials.  In 2006, Mr. Levine, alongside John Lawrence, obtained a $24.2 million jury verdict for their client in a complex healthcare contractual dispute -- the seventh largest jury verdict in California in that year.

Additionally, Mr. Levine has significant experience arguing appeals in front of state and federal appellate courts.  For instance, in the first quarter of 2008, Mr. Levine successfully defended lower court victories in front of California’s Second and Third Appellate Districts.

Mr. Levine was named a Southern California Rising Star by Los Angeles Magazine in 2005, 2006, and 2007.  In addition to being an active member of the State Bar of California, he is also licensed to practice in Arizona.
