Chris Micheli is one of Sacramento’s leading lawyer/lobbyists and has represented a number of major clients including Lockheed Martin, Cisco Systems, Chevron/Texaco, MCI Worldcom, Calpine, Mattel, Ameriquest, the Orange County Transportation Authority, Mercury Insurance Group, Zenith Insurance, the American Association of Independent Claims Professionals, and the California Grocers Association. The Wall Street Journal identified Chris as one of the top three business/tax lobbyists in the state.

Chris has been a registered lobbyist for nearly a dozen years, beginning his career as an attorney, before becoming General Counsel to the California Manufacturers Association, where he handled tax, budget, and legal issues. He received his BA in Political Science and Public Service from UC Davis and his JD from McGeorge School of Law. Chris has been an attorney of record in several key cases, having argued before the Supreme Court of California, as well as the California Courts of Appeal. He has filed more than 14 amicus curiae briefs in California courts and is admitted to practice before all State and Federal Courts in California.

Chris regularly testifies before legislative committees and administrative agencies on behalf of clients. He has published over 130 articles in professional journals, and more than 60 editorials in newspapers and trade magazines, whose diverse subjects range from tax incentives to transportation. He wrote a bi-monthly column for five years for the Daily Recorder, Sacramento’s daily legal newspaper, publishing over 100 columns. He also co-authored the handbook California’s Business Tax Incentives, by Spidell Publishing, Inc.

Chris specializes in regulatory and legislative matters for the Firm’s clients, including issues involving state and local taxation, transportation, civil liability, insurance, aerospace, procurement, and technology.
